Josh Boyce - ESPNBoston.Com's Mike Reiss blogged on May 24, 2013 that "Boyce's contract includes a $477,000 signing bonus, which is the same as the player drafted with the fifth pick of the fourth round last year, Miami receiver Travis Benjamin. The base salaries are $405,000 in 2013; $495,000 in 2014; $585,000 in 2015 and $675,000 in 2016. There is a full split in 2013, meaning that if Boyce lands on a reserve list, his base salary will be reduced. There is a preseason split for 2014. The salary cap charges break down this way: $524,250 in 2013; $614,250 in 2014; $704,250 in 2015; and $794,250 in 2016."
September 1, 2014 update On August 30th the New England Patriots waived Josh Boyce.
September 3, 2014 update On September 1st the New England Patriots signed Josh Boyce to the practice squad.
November 18, 2014 update On November 13th ESPNBoston.Com's Field Yates reported that "The New England Patriots have elevated the salaries of four practice-squad players, boosting the weekly pay of defensive end Jake Bequette, wide receiver Josh Boyce, offensive lineman Chris Barker and defensive tackle Joe Vellano to $10,000 per week. Practice squad players have a customary weekly salary of $6,300, though teams have license to pay more than those practice-squad salaries." My note - this increase took place with 8 weeks left in the regular season. Boyce earned $6,300 a week for nine weeks and will earn $10,000 a week for 8 weeks. That totals up to $136,700.
December 28, 2014 update Josh Boyce was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on December 27th.
