James Morris was signed to a three-year deal by the Patriots on May 16, 2014. He received a $10,000 signing bonus and had $10,000 of his 2014 salary guaranteed. The Patriots waived him on May 20 with a failed physical designation which voided his contract so the Patriots did not take a dead money hit with Morris's release.
August 3, 2014 update Morris was re-signed by the Patriots on August 3, 2014.On August 30th he was placed on Injured Reserve.
